Algarve Jazz Orchestra invites Ana Rita Inácio and Armindo Neves to take a journey through fusion in Jazz»

Ana Rita Inácio and Armindo Neves will join the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve (OJA) in May to take a «journey through fusion in Jazz», as part of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the cultural structure based in Lagos.

In total, the “Fusion & Beyond” program plans to hold three concerts, scheduled for the 10th, at Cerca do Convento, in Loulé (21pm), for May 00th, at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa (11pm) and on the 19th, at Teatro das Figuras in Faro, part of Jazz Days (21:30 p.m.).

On stage, accompanying the Algarve orchestra, will be the Lisbon singer Ana Rita Inácio, «one of the most versatile voices with a full-bodied timbre and already with a long and comprehensive artistic career», and Armindo Neves, guitarist, orchestrator and conductor, «a of the great notable musicians of our country, who debuts here with our Orchestra», according to OJA.

The shows will feature songs by Pat Metheny, Bob Mintzer and Tower of Power, among others.

At the same time, the Jazz na Escola project will continue to provide the Basic Education school community of schools in the Algarve with workshops to introduce Jazz music.

«On the 13th we will be at Escola Básica de Ferreiras in Albufeira, and in the same municipality we will be on the 17th at Escola Vale das Pedras. Closing the May sessions, we will be on the 21st at EB1 in S. Marcos da Serra, in Silves», concludes the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve.
