Ensuring financial rebalancing, quality services to the community and the employment of approximately 170 employees are the main objectives of the action plan of the new direction of the Centro Popular de Lagoa, chaired by professor and sociologist João Carlos Pereira.
This action plan also has as its main objectives the modernization and expansion of the offer and the improvement of quality.
In the words of the chairman of the Board, it is "an ambitious but feasible plan", because, as he stressed, "all those who are part of this project, the General Assembly, the Supervisory Board and the Management, have left in motivation what they lack in time".
The swearing in of the new governing bodies of the Lagoa Popular Center for the 2020-2023 quadrennium took place on 27 January, in a ceremony attended by the Executive Council, the command of the GNR, the commander of the Bombeiros Voluntários de Lagoa and Civil Protection, the Board of CASP, several guests, users and staff.
O Lagoa Popular Center is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, being responsible for the Elderly Home “Our Ninho”, which provides a Residential Structure for the Elderly, Day Center and Home Support Service, and for the Nursery “A Colmeia”, with Day Care, Pre- school and CAT.
