The Algarve has 15 nominees for the Portugal Trade Awards which will distinguish the best in the Tourism sector, for the 10th consecutive time, on the 17th of March, at the Hipódromo Manuel Possolo, in Cascais, with a presentation by Paulo Pires and with the presence of the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rita Marques, the president of Turismo de Portugal, Luís Araújo, and the president of the Confederation of Tourism of Portugal, Francisco Calheiros.
Algarve Congress Centre, Algarve Congress Palace – Salgados Palace Hotel, Aquashow Park Hotel, Zoomarine, Zebra Safari Tours, Albufeira Marinas, Lagos, Portimão and Vilamoura, Vila Joya, Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa, Farmhouse of the Palms , Fazenda Nova Country House are named, and Loulé and Alcoutim are also listed as possible Best Municipalities.
In all, 16 categories will be awarded, among which it is important to highlight those that have competitors from the Algarve: Space for Congresses, Theme Park, Touristic Entertainment, Marina, Exclusive Hotel, Luxury Hotel, Accommodation in Rural Areas and Municipality.
The winners result from a weighted average between the votes of subscribers to the Publituris newsletter (40%) and the votes of the Jury (60%), which is made up of several personalities in the tourism sector: representatives of industry associations, former secretaries of state Tourism, entrepreneurs, professionals, consultants and journalists.
