CCDR Algarve receives session on new legal regime of cartography

Registration for the event is free, but mandatory, subject to the maximum room capacity

A public session for dissemination and clarification on the new technical standards and specifications for vector and image topographic cartography and on the new legal framework for cartography will take place on December 13, at 10:00 am, at the headquarters of CCDR Algarve, in Faro.

In July of this year, the new technical standards and specifications for vector and image topographic cartography were published (Notice 11918/2019, of 24 July) and in August the new legal regime for cartography was published (DL 130/2019, of August 30).

The Directorate-General for the Territory (DGT) is finishing the preparation of a set of documents related to cartography, namely a guiding document on the production and updating of cartography and another on the procedures and rules relating to the approval of topographic cartography.

In order to present the above-mentioned legal instruments and documents and clarify any doubts that may exist in their interpretation, the DGT and the Regional Coordination and Development Committees (CCDR), in conjunction with the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities, are organize public dissemination and clarification sessions across the various regions.

In addition to the aforementioned themes, the new geoportal of the National Geographic Information System (SNIG) will also be presented, whose development was completed in the first half of 2019.

This event has as preferential recipients all CCDR technicians, municipalities and inter-municipal entities that, in the exercise of their professional activities, address issues related to cartography. It is intended, therefore, to promote a broad debate on the matters discussed with the participants.

DGT will make available preliminary versions of the documents "Guiding Principles for the Production and Update of Topographic Cartography" and "Procedures and Rules for Approval" in order to listen to the community and gather contributions to be able to produce the final versions before the end of the year. These documents when they are finished will be made available on this page.

Registration for the event is free, but mandatory, subject to the maximum capacity of the room.
