Leonor Coelho and her horse Biomundo were crowned Portuguese Dressage Champions at the initiated level (elementary level) in the Portuguese Youth Teaching Championships, OPEN and Paradressage, which took place between the 4th and 6th of October, at Portuguese Equestrian Society, in Lisbon.

The young knight from Loulé joins this title with the regional champion of the Algarve in Dressage, won in 2018.

Born in Loulé and residing in Quarteira, Leonor is 10 years old and since the age of two she has «shown a great passion for the world of horses», revealed Sónia Coelho, her mother, to the Sul Informação.

He started riding at the age of 6 and began to compete at 8. For about a year he has had his own horse, Biomundo, a Lusitano Purebred from the Stud Farm of Alter Real, which had been Portugal Champion, at the Complementary level , the year before.

The knight/horse pair has worked together since then at the Lusitanus Center, where Leonor had already been a student, under the guidance of teacher Íris Miranda, joining the Lusitanus Miranda Dressage team.

According to Sónia Coelho, the 5th year student at the Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura «intends to reconcile her training without jeopardizing her studies», but «she is a girl with many dreams and aspires to become a professional knight and perhaps, one day, come to be world champion, so that you can sing the Anthem of Portugal, honoring the Portuguese Flag».
