During the month of August, the municipality of Silves began the works to relocate and expand the gymnasium of the municipal swimming pools, which will be located on the 1st floor.
According to the municipality, the contract includes, among other components, "the construction of a lifting platform for people with reduced mobility".
The investment amounts to 147 thousand euros.
The execution of the work is included in the more general plan of modernization and enhancement of the Municipal Swimming Pool Complex, from the execution of the important and pioneering project of “Optimization of Energy Efficiency” (work in progress), to the installation of mixer taps in showers with timers for rational water management (completed), including the remodeling of the bar and jacuzzi, replacement of shower floors, replacement of showers and placement of dividers, fixation of acrylic protector on the staircase, new reception furniture and paintings (completed works ).
"All these improvements are being developed in order to improve the levels of enjoyment and practice of sport and leisure time by users and the population," says the municipality.
