Prices go down and the number of buses is reinforced between Odeceixe and Santiago do Cacém

The contract signing ceremony takes place at the City Hall of Alcácer do Sal

The reinforcement of public road transport in the connections between Odeceixe and Santiago do Cacém, including the passage via Odemira, will lead the inter-municipal communities of the Algarve and Alentejo Litoral to sign, this Thursday, 22 August, at 18 pm, a protocol that will enable cost reduction.

The contract signing ceremony takes place at the City Hall of Alcácer do Sal.

The protocol, signed between the Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve (AMAL) and the Intermunicipal Community of Alentejo Litoral (CIMAL), «will contribute to increasing the use of public passenger transport at the expense of individual transport, as well as reducing costs, namely through the adequate planning and contracting of networks and services”.

The Algarve Intermunicipal Community was a pioneer in launching the public tender for the concession of public road passenger transport service in the south of the country, in an investment of 85 million euros that includes 98 lines and 3000 stops.

AMAL was also responsible for the entry into force of the price reduction program for public transport passes, contributing to a 25% increase in the number of public transport users.
