The celebrations of the traditional Bath of the 29 will return to Lagos, on the 29th of August, with events at Cais da Solaria and Praia da Luz. This year, not even Herman José will miss the event.
The Bath of the 29 will present a cultural offer that includes historical recreation, a competition for old bathing suits, circulating entertainment, musical shows and the traditional night bath.
«Based on a strong historical tradition of popular character, the Bath 29 appears as one of the main events in the municipality of Lagos, with a program that takes place in the city and parish of Luz. The night of the 29th of August was worth 29 purifying baths and which allowed the devil to ward off loose during the day», says Câmara de Lagos.
According to the municipality, «the population took advantage of this folkloric tradition to celebrate the end of summer with food and drinks and lots of entertainment».
The program starts at 10:30 am with the Lagos Study Center, which «will take a trip back in time with a Historic Recreation of Bath 29 along Avenida dos Descobrimentos and Praia da Batata, where participants will cheer the audience up with their costumes. old, the delicious picnic with regional products and a simulation of the bath».
From 20 pm onwards, the party starts at Cais da Solaria with a show by the Rancho Folclórico de Odiáxere.
At 21 pm, there will be the Antique Swimwear Contest that rewards the most authentic and creative clothes.
From 22 pm, the star will be Herman José, who will «sing, delight and make the audience laugh with his characteristic humor and music. In this must-see one man show, the hilarious Herman José will invoke charismatic characters from his long career in entertainment», emphasizes Câmara de Lagos.
In the celebrations of the Bath on the 29th, there will be plenty of snacks, regional sweets and entertainment circulating on the beach that include «bathers, a winged mermaid and illuminated characters on stilts».
In Praia da Luz, the Clube Recreativo, Cultural e Desportivo Luzense will organize a party to celebrate the Bath 29 which starts at 21:30 pm and will last until 3:00 am, with musical entertainment by Humberto Silva, DJ Toby One and The Cuban Brothers.
