The young footballer Gonçalo Ramos, born in Olhão, is one of the nominees for the Golden Boy award that distinguishes the best player, under 21, playing in Europe.

The Golden Boy is awarded by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport and there are more Portuguese in the list of 60 candidates: Rafael Leão (AC Milan), João Félix (Atletico de Madrid), Diogo Dalot (Manchester United), Diogo Leite (FC Porto) and Gedson Fernandes (Benfica).

Gonçalo Ramos was added to the list, after an update of candidates, made this Thursday, August 15th.

The young player, aged 18, plays for Benfica's B team and was one of the highlights of Portugal in the European Under-19 Championship last July, in which the national team was crowned runner-up.

The Golden Boy winner will be announced on October 15th. Renato Sanches, in 2016, was the only Portuguese to win this award.
