Grafonola Voadora & Napoleão Mira go to the Tavira Book Fair and then to Loulé, Lagos, Lagoa and Sagres

Project developed by João Espada, Luís Galrito ​​and Napoleão Mira, also involves Ricardo Martins and João Palma

The project Grafonola Voadora & Napoleão Mira is going to give a show at the Tavira Book Fair, in Jardim do Coreto, on July 22, at 22 pm. In September and November, the project has already confirmed dates in Loulé, Lagos, Lagoa and Sagres.

The project developed by João Espada, Luís Galrito ​​and Napoleão Mira, which also involves Ricardo Martins and João Palma, has the gift of echoing in the audience an appeal to a more erudite culture, without, however, leaving an outdoor stage, that everyone is invited to step through the various senses.

João Espada, videographer, brings visual art to this group through new technologies. Luís Galrito, the voice and the piano. Ricardo Martins and João Palma combine the traditional sounds, with the Portuguese guitar and the accordion, respectively. To all this, there is also poetry, in the deep and deep voice of Napoleão Mira.

Grafonola proposes to «(re)build an affective, symbolic, visual and musical geography of audiovisual frames referring to common places of the human being», «traveling visually and musically through urban, rural and maritime spaces in search of natural and cultural environments linked to the material and intangible heritage of all of us”.

This audiovisual journey «also follows the paths of the ethnomusicologist Michel Giacometti, the musical path of the singer José Afonso and addresses the literary work of poet and writer Sophia de Mello Breyner and Andersen and poet and writer Manuel da Fonseca, through a musical and distinct visual that privileges organic sounds, in dialogue with sound design and the electronic musical universe».

After the book fairs in Évora, Olhão and Tavira, the next events of Grafonola Voadora are two presentations within the scope of DiVaM – Program for the Disclosure and Valorization of the Algarve's Monuments, in Loulé (27 September) and in Sagres (24 November) , as well as a show in Lagos at «Sul de Sophia», on the 28th of September, and another in Lagoa, on the 16th of November.
