Frontal Shock “shakes” Portimão with Nanook, The Black Teddys and Nanabey

Event is free entry

Nanabey, Nanook and The Black Teddys are the artists who will perform, this Saturday, July 13th, at 21:30 pm, at the Festival Choque Frontal, at Alameda da Praça da República de Portimão.

Nanook was born on the island of São Miguel, has a degree in Marine Biology from the University of Algarve and resides in Faro.

Tércio Freire, better known as Nanook, is above all a music lover.

Taking on stage as a one man band de blues e folk rock, Nanook released the album “O Mundo XXI”.

Heavily influenced by musicians such as Bob Dylan or Tom Waits, it is with a clearly intimate record that shares life experiences, portraits of our society and stories of love and disagreements having the blues and folk always as a background.

Nanabey is the musical project Taly Minkov, which was born from the desire to show the world their music. The lyrics and melodies are of his own authorship and the instrumentals were worked in collaboration with Pedro Barroso, Cristovão Mestre, among others. Some melodies were inspired by instrumentals by producer Sickonce. Taly and Pedro create versions of their songs that result in a homogeneous sound that gives rise to Nanabey.

In turn, The Black Teddys assume themselves as a band indie rock influenced by the most diverse artists and bands in the rock scene, from the 60s/70s to the present day.

In February 2017 they released the EP “Midninght Struggles”.

The band is composed by André Brito on bass, Bruno Barras on drums, Carlos Favinha on vocals and guitar and Ricardo Martins on guitars and keys.

The Black Teddys were finalists in 2019 of the “Battle of the Bands -Marginália” and winners of the first edition of the contest “Música Já” held in Faro this year.

The band is now preparing its entry into the studio to record a new record work and is scheduled to attend this year's Festival F in Faro.

The free entry event is held by Alvor FM in partnership with the Parish of Portimão and with support from the Municipality of Portimão.
