Marine Renewable Energies took the University of the Algarve to Greece

Thessaloniki hosted the 3rd Transnational Blue Energy Laboratory (TBEL#3) of the Maestrale project

Marine renewable energies took the University of Algarve (UAlg) to Thessaloniki, in Greece, where the 3rd Transnational Blue Energy Laboratory (TBEL#3) of the Maestrale project took place between the 5th and 7th of June.

The Algarve academy was represented by the Division of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer (CRIA), one of the partners in this project, which participated in a coordination and meeting. of the Steering Committee Board, «where the state of development of the project was analyzed and future activities were programmed».

«The transnational session was attended by international stakeholders, from the various countries of the Maestrale partnership, who presented papers on the theme of Blue Energy», according to UAlg.

This international project is developed under the Interreg MED Program and part of the Innobluegrowth horizontal community for the growth of the Blue Economy. Its general objective is «the promotion of the development of Blue Energy in the Mediterranean region, as a key sector for sustainable growth, through the promotion of creation and the networkg transnational of clusters innovative'.

«The specific objectives include the creation of pre-conditions for a better exploitation of renewable energy resources in the marine environment, preserving the cultural and environmental values ​​of the MED region, and the strengthening of cooperation between public authorities, R&DT entities, companies and civil society , promoting relations at regional and transnational level, to generate critical mass and environmental conditions necessary for innovation and competitiveness», concluded the University of Algarve.
