Proposals abound for the three candidates for mayor of Castro Marim

Sul Informação interviewed the three candidates

The Interim Elections for the Chamber of Castro Marim will take place on Sunday and from them will leave the executive council who will govern this county until 2021, the date of the next Municipal Councils. The place of mayor is being disputed by three candidates, two of them repeaters and a premiere.

Francisco Amaral, who was president of the Chamber until February, when he resigned, along with all the members of his list, causing early elections, is the candidate for the Castro Marim + Humano coalition, which joins the PSD and the CDS-PP.

Célia Brito was head of the list in 2017 and returns to be the PS candidate in these Intercalaries. Despite being an opposition councilor, the socialist was highlighted in what was half a term, as the PS had as many councilors in the Chamber as the social democrats, despite these leading the executive.

Making his debut as a candidate for president is Nuno Osório, who heads the CDU list.

Sunday's elections will have to leave an executive with a different composition than the outgoing one, taking into account that the Castro Marim Primeira movement, of José Estevens, which in 2017 received around 800 votes and elected a councilor, did not present a candidacy.

Now, the decision is up to the Castro-Marinenses, who are once again able to choose who they want to be in charge of the city's destinations.

O Sul Informação went to talk to the three candidates and reveal their ideas and proposals. To find out what each of the aspiring presidents of the Chamber stands for, follow the links:
