Jackson misses Portimonense's last game through punishment

Colombian takes 9 goals scored in 27 games

Forward Jackson Martínez was punished by the Disciplinary Board of the Portuguese Football Federation and will miss the last of Portimonense in the I Liga, scheduled for this Friday, May 17, at 20:30, against Sporting de Braga.

The decision was made known this Tuesday and is based on statements made by the Colombian at the end of the game between Portimonense and Rio Ave.

At the time, the Algarve, who now have a guaranteed maintenance in the I League, lost by 0-1 and, in the flash interview, the striker was not soft on his words.

«With all due respect for the referees and the Arbitration Council, but what is happening is not normal. It's not normal, three games in a row. In an attacking play of ours, Paulinho went to talk directly to the referee and got red, when all the players do that. It's no excuse for our defeat, but there's a lot to improve. There are things that are being directly against us. Before starting the game, they are already against us», he said, quoted by the newspaper O Jogo.

For the rest, Jackson Martínez may not play for the Algarve any more. The striker is loaned by the Chinese from Guangzhou Evergrande, not knowing, yet, if he will remain at Portimonense next season.

It is certain that the Colombian fulfilled, this year, the best season since the times of FC Porto. Jackson scored 9 goals in 27 games, some of them decisive, as the last journey in front of the Maritime.
