This Sunday, May 19, the Algarve's Joana Schenker became six-time national bodyboard champion, after having won the third stage of the circuit, held in Santa Cruz (Torres Vedras).
The athlete from the Sagres Bodyboard Association thus won the sixth title in a row, beating rivals Teresa Almeida, Mariana Rosa and Madalena Pradela.
«My goal was to win the Nacional. Despite being the most normal achievement for me, it's also the one that puts me the most pressure because it seems like I'm forced to win and the truth is that the competition is very strong, with all the to surf very well and make me pay for any oversight, so I'm very happy and relieved to have secured the title so quickly», said the athlete, in a post on her Facebook page.
After winning this title, Joana Schenker will now try to win the World Championship.
Last season this was a title that escaped him, unlike 2017, year the algarvia won even the Bodyboard World Championship.
