Alcoutim hosts Algarve Archives Meeting

This meeting marks the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Algarve Archives Network

The VI Meeting of the Algarve Archives takes place on the 24th and 25th of May, at the Espaço Guadiana, in Alcoutim.

The works will open on Friday, the 24th, at 9:30 am and will end on Saturday, the 25th, at 12:45 pm.

During the two days, different perspectives on the theme of the meeting will be addressed: "Information Architectures" where information management professionals, researchers and those who deal directly or indirectly with information will present communications and debate on the different panels on the themes: information infrastructure, data protection and research experiences in the Algarve archives.

After lunch on the 25th, the cultural program will take place, as usual at these meetings, this time offered by the municipality of Alcoutim, host of the event, to the participants, where the cultural and natural heritage of the village will be made known.

This meeting also marks the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Algarve Archives Network, which will be marked with a commemorative dinner on the 24th.

The Algarve Archives Meetings are regular events promoted by the Algarve Archives Network (Raalg) that take place every two years, where technicians from different areas related to archives and the management of information from public and private institutions bring issues to the fore. interest of professionals and civil society.

The first meeting was organized precisely in Alcoutim in 2009.

With the creation of the Algarve Archives Network at the end of 2009, the meetings were held, having been held in Portimão (2011), Olhão (2013), University of Algarve (2015) and Lagoa (2017).
