This year, the Petisco Route passes through Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Lagos, Portimão, Silves, Monchique, Lagoa, Albufeira, Faro, Olhão, São Brás de Alportel and Tavira.

Pousada de Sagres, Hotel Tivoli (Lagos), Mar d'Estórias (Lagos), Faina Museum (Portimão), Taberna de Portimão, Maria do Mar (Portimão), Recanto dos Mouros (Silves), Eat in the drawer (Tavira), Água Salgada (Tavira), WAX (Faro) and Chalavar (Faro) are just some of the mandatory stopping points on this itinerary.

To embark on this trip, participants must purchase a passport (available at information points and participating establishments), with a cost of 1,50 euros, an amount that reverts, in full, to different local social projects, selected by a jury.

For every 12 stamps added to the passport (for every 12 spaces visited), participants are also entitled to a set of prizes, to be drawn at the end of the event.

Inspired by local products and the region's gastronomic traditions, Rota do Petisco celebrates the Algarve's gastronomy and invites visitors to visit the Algarve outside of the high season.

«The Petisco Route arrives, in 2019, with more restaurants, from even more geographies, and offering participants a richer and more comprehensive experience of the local cuisine. This is an event celebrating the knowledge and flavors of the Algarve, reinvented for this event, which has proved to be highly appreciated by visitors, who do not stop to increase with each edition», says Luís Brito, president of the Teia D'Impulsos association, who , for nine years, has been running this event.

The Rota do Petisco program also includes a set of satellite initiatives, which enrich the event's quality offer. O Sul Informação will take care of these initiatives, so stay tuned.
