Children in Vila do Bispo warn of mistreatment in childhood

Activities took place in conjunction with the municipality's Schools Group

Today, April 30th, Vila do Bispo Municipal Square became a huge human blue ribbon to alert the community that the best way to deal with the problem of child abuse is to prevent it from happening.

This initiative, carried out by the students of the Vila do Bispo Kindergarten, marked the end of the activities developed within the scope of the national campaign «April, Month for the Prevention of Child Abuse», which this year had the motto “I will be what I am Deres… May it be Love!”.

The remaining activities took place at the Municipality's Schools Group, where pre-school students were presented with the playful-pedagogical activity “Stories with rights”.

The 1st cycle students watched the film “A Minha Vida de Courgette”, followed by a debate. In turn, students from the EB 2,3 School in Vila do Bispo watched the film “O Principezinho”, followed by a debate.

Another highlight was the seminar “The Children's Rights”, which took place at the Cultural Center of Vila do Bispo, and the Blue Ribbon, which was displayed on the façade of this building.

Invigorated by the Commission for the Protection of Children and Youth of Vila do Bispo (CPCJ), with the support of the City Council, these actions aimed to raise awareness in the community of its role in preventing child abuse, as well as to promote in families the exercise of positive parenting, without resorting to verbal or physical violence.

The CPCJ of Vila do Bispo thanks the collaboration of the GNR of the Territorial Post of Vila do Bispo in the formation of the human blue tie.

At the same time, the National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights and Protection of Children and Youth also established a human bond in the Assembly of the Republic. In this way, it is intended to raise awareness and also to remember our collective and community responsibility for the prevention of abuse.
