Richie Campbell will close the 2019 edition of Fatacil, in Lagoa, the year the event celebrates its 40th anniversary. The closing show is scheduled for the 25th of August.
«Richie Campbell is one of the greatest artists in the Portuguese music scene. Fatacil is the biggest fair of the summer in the South. On the 10th day of the 2019 edition, the two get together to make a big party», emphasizes Câmara de Lagoa.
According to the municipality, in the year it celebrates its 40th anniversary, Fatacil “is preparing for a special edition featuring the most desired music and the favorite artists of the Portuguese public. After the arrival of the Xutos e Pontapés on the first day of the fair, August 16, the closing show with Richie Campbell is now confirmed».
The Câmara de Lagoa, which organizes the fair, says that Fatacil «is, each year, more recognized. Not only for the great exhibition of the best products and brands in the Algarve, but also for a poster of shows that fills the nights of August holidays with the best energy».
After, in November 2018, UNESCO classified reggae music as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity, «the most applauded Portuguese interpreter of this style, Richie Campbell, takes to the FATACIL stage to close the fair with a golden key».
The municipality of Lagos emphasizes that «UNESCO highlighted, at the time of the classification, the enormous contribution of this song to the international conscience on the issues of injustice, resistance, love and humanity».
And it will be «with the Portuguese artist closest to music that “preserves a whole series of basic social functions” that FATACIL prepares the last night of its 40 years», concludes Câmara de Lagoa.
