The Maria Barroso Award ceremony, which was scheduled for this saturday, march 9th, at 21 pm, was canceled due to problems “in the electrical circuit” of the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium, in Lagoa.
The Chamber of Lagos issued, this Friday, the 8th, a statement in which it reports the cancellation of the event.
«Technical issues, at the level of the electrical circuit, imply the impossibility of using various equipment in the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium», explains the municipality.
«We will try to resolve this technical issue as soon as possible so that we can reschedule the event», concludes the City Council.
Maria do Céu da Cunha Rego, a lawyer, with professional and civic work in the field of equality between men and women, international migration and support for Portuguese communities abroad, was chosen as the winner of the first edition of this award.
