Portimonense misses two-goal advantage against Belenenses

Algarvians eventually allowed the tie

Portimonense drew 2-2 with Belenenses, in a game counting for the I League played this Saturday at Estádio do Jamor, in Oeiras. The Algarve were winning 2-0, but allowed the home team to recover.

The Portimonense, who on Sunday had thrashed the Nacional and interrupted a series of six games without a win for the I League, it didn't take long to get ahead of the scoreboard. At 3 minutes, Aylton Boa-Morte, Winter's reinforcement, made the best use of Tabata's cross on the left side of the attack and headed it 1-0.

The same Aylton had to be in the second of Portimonense, scored in the 18th minute, but this time in the skin of loader. The Algarvian forward assisted Jackson Martinez, who, inside the area, beat Belense goalkeeper Muriel.

Portimonense was still close to reaching 3-0, in the 30th minute, but Muriel denied Henrique the goal. Until half-time, the result did not change.

In the return of the changing rooms, Belenenses imitated what Portimonense had done in the first half and soon reduced the disadvantage. On minute 49, Licá took advantage of a bad relief from Tormena and beat Ricardo Ferreira.

Belenenses got excited and went looking for the draw and ended up getting it, in the 67th minute. Jonathan Lucca recovered the ball in Portimonense's midfield and, from outside the area, shot strong and placed, with no chance for goalkeeper Ricardo Ferreira.

The Algarvian team tried to accelerate, to regain the advantage, but lacked judgment in the last meters of the field. Belenenses, on the other hand, playing at home, hadn't given up on getting the comeback either and looked forward to the attack whenever they could.

Around 90, there were two good occasions almost in a row, one for each side. First, it was Nuno Coelho, from Belenenses, who made the ball pass near the post of the Algarvians. Soon after, Aylton forced the guardian Muriel to a tight defense.

With this result, Portimonense remains in the 9th position of the I League, but now has the same 32 points as Santa Clara.
