Reis Magos de Ayamonte will once again cross the border to visit the historic center of Vila Real de Santo António, on Saturday, January 5th.
The visit includes a procession through the streets of VRSA and Praça Marquês de Pombal, where the Aldeia de Natal is located. The route will end with the distribution of sweets and confetti for the younger ones.
The initiative is part of the activities of the Eurocity of the Guadiana and the Christmas celebrations in VRSA and recreates the tradition of the “Cabalgata de Reyes”, “a cortege that attracts hundreds of people to the streets of Spanish cities and towns”, according to the Chamber of VRSA .
The activity starts in Castro Marim, with the arrival of the Reis Magos in Vila Real de Santo António at 11:00 am. "Through this partnership, the three localities share the culture and traditions that mark the identity of each of the border municipalities", added the municipality.
At 14:30 pm, the Reis Magos will travel by ferry to Ayamonte to start the traditional “cabalgata”, at 15:00 pm.
