The 10th edition of the Islamic Festival takes place from the 16th to the 19th of May, in the historic center of Mértola.
The Mértola Chamber, the organizing entity, is finalizing a program full of novelties, with emphasis on the musical program and entertainment of the street market – Souk.
The Islamic Festival of Mértola is a meeting of cultures, where the Islamic cultural heritage is celebrated, but also values such as tolerance and respect for difference.
For four days, «Mértola gains new life, the smells, sounds and also the gastronomy from the other side of the Mediterranean invade the town and mix in perfect harmony with those from here».
