Olhão: Olympic sailor promotes consumption of horse mackerel at João da Rosa school

This visit takes place as part of a campaign to promote the consumption of fish promoted by Docapesca

The Portuguese Olympic sailor Joana Pratas will raise awareness among the students of the EB 2,3 João da Rosa, in Olhão, on the importance of the consumption of horse mackerel, on Tuesday, the 30th of October.

This visit is part of a national campaign to promote horse mackerel, promoted by Docapesca, which involves five champions of various nautical sports.

In addition to Joana Pratas, who was the first woman to represent Portugal in an Olympic Games, aboard a sailing boat, and has already been to three Olympics, Fernando Pimenta (canoeing), Francisco Lufinha (kitesurfing), Hugo Vau ( surfing) and Teresa Almeida (bodyboarding).

In the sessions that will take place in different schools, the athletes “will share their sporting experience and the importance of fish in the diet”, according to Docapesca.

The initiative starts tomorrow, Monday, in Almada and Pinhal Novo, followed by Olhão, on the 30th, and Entroncamento, on the 31st of October.
