«Thousands of visitors» return to the Vila Real de Santo António Beach Fair

Many Spaniards visit the fair on the 12th because it is a holiday in the “neighboring country”

The traditional Feira da Praia returns to Vila Real de Santo António, between this Wednesday, October 10th, and Sunday, the 15th. The event will run from 8:00 am to 1:00 am.

The fair is distributed along Avenida da República and Praça Marquês de Pombal, "welcoming thousands of visitors, mainly Spaniards, who on the 12th, a public holiday in Spain, travel to the city and the shops in the Historic Center", he says. the Town Hall of Vila Real de Santo António.

Feira da Praia, the name by which it has always been known, originated in the original location where it was held, in front of the sands of Monte GordoIn 1765.

Later, in 1774, the date of the foundation of Vila Real de Santo António, it was transferred to the city, gaining the function of social and economic expansion and aiming to promote fisheries.

Also between the 10th and 14th of October, the António Aleixo Cultural Center will host the XNUMXth exhibition of sweets called “The flavors of the Guadiana”. With free entry, the event will exhibit and sell the best of Algarve and national sweets.
