Concert directed by conductor Cesário Costa has free admission

An open-air concert, at Jardim Pescador Olhanense, in Olhão, scheduled for Saturday, 8 September, at 21 pm, culminates the 30th stage of the Symphonic Orchestra, which this year takes place in the Algarve city. The initiative is free to enter.

About nine dozen young musicians from all over the country will be in Olhão between the 2nd and 9th of September, with the rehearsals being shared by the Municipal Auditorium and the Conservatory of Music.

In 2014 the Ensemble – Portuguese Association of Music Education Institutions created the Symphonic Orchestra Ensemble, aimed at music students from private and cooperative schools of Specialized Artistic Education.

The orchestra is made up of around 90 young musicians between the ages of 10 and 20, selected from around two hundred competitors from the north to the south of the country.

The artistic direction is under the responsibility of Professor Teresa Rocha, and the orchestra is directed by conductor Cesário Costa.
