The bus from the Instituto Português do Sangue e da Transplantação will pass through Loulé and Albufeira in yet another Summer Campaign in the Algarve. Collections will take place at MAR Shopping Algarve, on the 15th of August, between 15:00 and 20:00, and at Albufeira Shopping, on the 16th and 17th of August.
This campaign "aims to fill the need for blood that, in the summer period, worsens in Portuguese hospitals, as many surgeries have to be postponed due to lack of blood, which causes serious problems for patients, even putting their survival at risk" , explains the Association of Blood and Bone Marrow Donors of Albufeira (ADSA), which promotes the initiative together with the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation.
"That's why all people over 18 and under 65, over 50 kilos and healthy should participate in this campaign," says the association.
ADSA recalls that "this type of initiative has a greater good in its purpose: saving lives or providing a better quality of life to those in need."
