After the beach… the confession. If you are on holiday, or live, in Tavira, Vila Real de Santo António or Monte Gordo you will be able to go to confession, from the 1st of July to the 31st of August, always at 21 pm.
The initiative is from the Vigaria (a set of geographically associated parishes) of Tavira, which organized itself in order to provide, from 1st July to 31st August, a timetable throughout the week, in the different parishes, in which the faithful who attend they wish to have recourse to the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Always at 21 pm, Christians (residents or on vacation) will have priests at their disposal, who will be able to make their confession in different locations and in different languages.
On Monday it will be in Cabanas, on Tuesday in Altura and on Wednesdays in Monte Gordo. Vila Real de Santo António receives these confessions on Thursdays, Tavira (Santiago) on Fridays and, finally, Cacela on Saturdays.
“This is a way for the Church to provide a service, not only to local communities, but to all who visit us, seeking that the time of rest is also a time of closeness to God and of real and concrete welcome in the different parishes », says the Diocese of Algarve.
