Colos is celebrating with the São João Fair

The traditional Feira de S. João comes back to life in the town of Colos, in the municipality of Odemira, between today, Friday, and Sunday, 24 June. The fair bets on boosting the livestock sector, showing handicrafts and local products and lots of entertainment.

From 20:00 on this Friday, and throughout the weekend, there will be an exhibition of handicrafts and regional products and an exhibition of agricultural machinery, with free admission. There will be several activities for children and young people, with inflatables and radical activities.

For the first night of the fair, in addition to the traditional jumping the bonfire of S. João, there will be a performance by the Marcha Baeta de Messejana and a show with the Susbitos do Costume group, followed by a ball late into the night with the Duo Kontraste.

On Saturday, June 23, from 15 pm onwards, there will be lots of traditional music with groups Viver Milfontes and Espigas Douradas de Albernoa and artists António Ledo and Marco and Campaniça. The night will be dedicated to the performance of the group Os Amantes do Alentejo, ballet Cláudio Rosário and DJ Peter Zamb.

On Sunday, the 24th, from 15 pm onwards, the afternoon will be dedicated to singing from the Alentejo with the performance of the group Viver Milfontes, Grupo Coral from Vila Nova de Milfontes, Os Tibórnia, As Campaniças do Mira and the group De Moda em Moda.

The initiative is promoted by Colos XXI – Association for the Development of the Parish of Colos, with the support of the Parish Council of Colos and the Municipality of Odemira.
