Improvement works on EN124 and EN396 are progressing with a guarantee of being ready «before summer»

This Friday, 25 May, Infraestruturas de Portugal assigned the contract to repair and improve traffic and safety conditions on the EN124 and EN396.

As announced at the end of last month, «IP is now starting a series of emergency interventions to correct the pathologies identified on these roads».

On the EN124, work will be carried out on a section of 9,9 kilometers between Porto de Lagos (km 6,750) and the vicinity of Silves (km 16,650), crossing the municipalities of Portimão and Silves, and on the EN396, next to the junction with the A22 ( km 18,6), in Loulé.

According to IP, «works will be carried out at the pavement level, which involve, among others, milling and re-paving, the heightening of the shoulders and execution of the horizontal marking of the lane».

That company guarantees that the project, «as a matter of urgency», will be completed «before the summer period, ensuring an important improvement in the comfort and safety conditions for the region's populations, as well as for the thousands of tourists who seek the Algarve for enjoy your holidays'.
