The Júpiter canned brand, launched in 1947, will be marketed again, even before the summer, by Conserveira do Sul. The brand is old, but the product will be new, «more natural», since it will be “bio” canned with sarcocorn instead of salt.

Sara Costa, great granddaughter of António Jacinto Ferreira, founder of Conserveira do Sul, explains that the brand is «previous to Conserveira do Sul and was part of other companies that my great-grandfather had with children».

When the businessman founded Conserveira do Sul, in 1954, Jupiter started to be marketed by this company.

During the visit to the company's store and exhibition hall, during the FAM Trip of Olhão, Sara Costa revealed that the new Jupiter «will be in organic oil» and will have sarcocorn, «an herb that grows in our Ria Formosa».

Mackerel fillets, horse mackerel fillets, tuna fillets, tuna belly, whole sardines in oil and skinless and boneless sardines will be the varieties of this renewed brand by Conserveira do Sul.

Already in 2015, Conserveira do Sul had relaunched another historic brand: Good Boy, which was initially produced in 1950 by Ferreira Júnior & Irmãos, Lda., which António Jacinto Ferreira created for himself and his children.
