The 27th Honey, Cheese and Bread Fair takes place from April 29th to XNUMXth, in Mértola, and presents «the best of the traditional products produced in the municipality».

In addition to these three delicacies, the Fair has in recent years made known other products, such as wine, aromatic herbs and sausages.

During the three days of the fair, the producers make known their products in a festive atmosphere.

On the first day, after the official opening, the launch trailer for the nature documentary about the Guadiana Valley will take place. The musical animation is the responsibility of the groups Brasa Doirada and Terra Bela.

On Saturday 28th, at 14 pm, there will be a workshop entitled “Hands in the Dough”, followed by an open discussion on “Our daily bread”. Music is a constant in the fairgrounds and on this second day, “Amigos da Pinguinha”, “Mata Bicho” and “D'Empreitada” take to the stage.

On the last day of the event, the fair grounds also host the traditional April fair. Traditional Alentejo music will be even more represented with the performance of choral groups Guadiana de Mértola, Os Ceifeiros de Serpa, Cantadeiras do Redondo, Feminine Rosas de Abril Rio de Moinhos and Casa do Povo da Amareleja.

The Honey, Cheese and Bread Fair has several taverns where visitors can taste some of the delicacies made in the county.
