Hydrographic vessel “Almirante Gago Coutinho” investigates the coast of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina

Between January 26 and February 9, the hydrographic vessel “NRP Almirante Gago Coutinho” carried out another hydrographic survey (LH) on the seabed of the Natural Park of Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina (PNSACV).

According to the Navy, this survey aimed to "complement the information obtained in the LH last November, in order to allow the physical cartography of the seabed and the updating of nautical charts."

In this survey, a «high-resolution multibeam probe» was used, which «allows the generation of bathymetric models with high detail, as illustrated in the images».​
