The death of Carlos Silva e Sousa, mayor of Albufeira, "it leaves the local government poorer", considered Jorge Botelho president of the Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL).

In a note sent to the editorial offices, AMAL, "on behalf of the mayors of the Algarve", expresses its "deepest regret and sadness" at the death of its "fellow mayor of Albufeira" and addresses "the most sincere and heartfelt condolences”.

The note signed by Jorge Botelho, which classifies Carlos Silva e Sousa as a «competent man, friend, advocate of causes in the Algarve, the Algarve and the Albufeirenses», recalls that the late mayor had been a member, since the end of 2013, of the Intermunicipal Council of AMAL", having "carried out with dedication and commitment the functions assigned to the position". He was also a member of the AMAL Intermunicipal Assembly, between 2005 and 2013.

“We deeply regret its premature disappearance”, concludes the note of regret.

Carlos Silva and Sousa died last night, around 22 pm, at home, victim of massive heart attack.

His funeral takes place tomorrow saturday.
