A presentation session of the Financial Instrument for Urban Rehabilitation and Revitalization (IFRRU) 2020 will be held on February 9th, from 10:30 am, in the Auditorium of the Paços do Concelho XXI century building, in Lagos.

The initiative is promoted by the Câmara de Lagos, together with the banking entities selected in a public tender.

The IFRRU 2020 is intended to support investments in urban rehabilitation through loans on more advantageous conditions for developers compared to those on the market, for the full rehabilitation of buildings, intended for housing or other activities, incident in the Urban Rehabilitation Areas ( ARU) of the various municipalities in the country, including the Municipality of Lagos.

Integrated energy efficiency solutions can also be included in the financing.

These loans are available to all types of beneficiaries, whether natural or legal persons, public or private.

Applications can be submitted to partner banks, such as Santander Totta, Banco Português de Investimento (BPI), Millennium BCP and Banco Popular Portugal.

For companies that do not have sufficient guarantee, the IFRRU 2020 also provides, as an alternative, a guarantee through the Portuguese Mutual Guarantee System, with the Portuguese Mutual Counterguarantee Society (SPGM) being the entity responsible for its management.

IFRRU 2020 seeks to provide means to revitalize cities, contributing "to the creation of housing, attracting new residents to urban areas and creating jobs, stimulating economic activity, an essential instrument for the implementation of the recommended urban rehabilitation strategies and implemented by the Municipality of Lagos», says the Municipality.
