The Film Club of Faro will celebrate 122 years of the first public and paid screening of cinema, made by the Lumière brothers in 1895, at the Grand Café in Paris, with the event taking place at the regional direction of Faro of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth of Faro, on the 28th of December.

In addition to "all ages" sessions throughout the day, a special initiative is scheduled, in which "33 spectators – as on December 28, 1895 – will sit at the table for a dinner inspired by French cuisine, followed by evening and a get-together watered with wine and hot chocolate», according to the Cineclube of the Algarve capital.

The cinematographic marathon starts at 11:30 am, with the screening of the film “Azur and Asmar”, by Michel Ocelot (France), followed by “The Brothers Grimmm”, by Terry Gilliam (USA), at 14:30 pm, “The Influence of Gamma Rays in the Behavior of Daisies”, by Paul Newman (USA), at 17:30 pm, and “Lumière! The Adventure Begins”, by Thierry Fréumax (France), at 21 pm.

Registration for the dinner, which will take place at the IPDJ bar, can be done until the 23rd of December.
