The Santo Amaro Market, in Lagos, will receive, on November 14, World Diabetes Day, a population survey to raise awareness and alert to the risk factors associated with the disease.
The screening, which takes place between 8:30 am and 12:30 pm, is promoted by the Diabetology Nucleus of the Lagos Unit of the University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA).
«Through the methodology findrisk, health professionals will fill out a questionnaire, perform a physical assessment and other parameters, such as capillary blood glucose or blood pressure, in order to detect users who are at high or very high risk of developing diabetes in the next ten years and, if necessary, make the referral to the health services», adds CHUA.
