Cucumbers, broccoli, sweet potatoes and turnips… musical. This is the “Conciorto”, a show in which vegetables make music, which starts this Tuesday, November 21st, in Monchique, but which will also pass through Aljezur.

Italian musicians Bagini and Carlone are responsible for the initiative, which opens tomorrow, at the historic “Barlefante”, at 21 pm, in Monchique. Admission is free and, in addition to music, there will be shots of vegetable soup to to cuddle the stomach.

Giacomo Scalisi, one of the programmers of “Lavrar o Mar”, of which this improbable concert is a part, said in a conversation with the Sul Informação, that the “Concio” «is perfect for our “Lavrar o Mar”», since «we are always looking for how to connect art with nature».

And how do vegetables make music? "Through an electrical impulse, a sound is produced in the computer," he explained.

After Monchique, the “Conciorto”, an initiative that is part of the "365Algarve", will set up arraiais at the bistro-restaurant “Várzea”, in Aljezur, on November 22, 23, 24 and 25, at 19:30 pm.

Here, there will be a concert dinner, where people will eat the vegetables that are being played by the musicians. These vegetables will be collected in the “Várzea” vegetable garden, through which it will be possible to walk around.

Giacomo Scalisi "always monitors new productions in Europe" and this "Concirto" caught his attention, not least because "we are in Monchique and Aljezur, where vegetables are important," he said.

All sessions of this show, in Aljezur, are sold out. Therefore, the only opportunity to attend this peculiar concert is to go to Monchique, to “Barlefante”, where admission is free (only limited to space).
