The project Algharb.Come will be presented, in Faro, this Friday, the 27th of October, at the IPDJ, from 19 pm.

The presentation of the initiative, carried out by the Youth Association Backup, will feature several moments such as Tertúlia.Come: “Youth, Heritage, Tourism and Culture”, which will have the participation of Dália Paulo, commissioner of the 365 Algarve program, Custódio Moreno, regional director of the Algarve at IPDJ, Artur Gregório, chairman of the board of Associação InLoco and also with Ana Quinteliano and André Oliveira, from Associação Juvenil Backup.

There will also be, in this presentation, a cultural moment by the Algarve Fado Association, with the Al Mouraria and the ShowCooking “At the table with the Mediterranean Diet”, promoted by the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School.

The IPDJ explains that Algharb.Come “is inspired by the roots of Baixo Guadiana and Andalusia through three fundamental pillars: Culture, present in Fado and Flamenco; Heritage, through the spaces that welcome it, such as municipal markets, typical restaurants, pedestrian routes, historical places of interest in Baixo Guadiana and, for the final event, the Revelim de Santo António, in Castro Marim; the typical gastronomy of our region, especially the Mediterranean Diet considered, such as Fado and Flamenco, an Intangible Heritage of Humanity».

AlGharb.Come «was designed to reveal what Baixo Guadiana has in store for us, through its traditions and customs, allowing tour agents to have access to a diversified program that meets what tourism is looking for. However, the main objective is to involve the entire community in the co-production of this project, so that they feel responsible for building a program that can offer tourism the essence of the Algarve, present, above all, in sparsely populated areas», adds the IPDJ.

In addition to supporting the 365Algarve program, the Associação Juvenil Backup project has as partners the Castro Marim Council, the Vila Real de Santo António Council, Odiana, the Vila Real de Santo António Hotel and Tourism School, the Escola de Algarve Hotels and Tourism, DocaPesca, the Algarve Fado Association, the Cultural Association of Spanish Dance, the Castromarinense Musical Band, Milacessos – Services and Solidarity Cooperative, the Boutique Hotel Praia Verde, the In-Loco Association and also the Regional Directorate of the Algarve of the IPDJ.
