The artistic installation “Andorinhas Recriadas”, the exhibition “Perspectivas 37º05`42,73”N 007º54º`13,85”W” and the “Paintings of the Baroque in Seville and Algarve: Contacts, Coincidences and Discordances” are some of the commemorative initiatives of the European Heritage Days, from the 22nd to the 24th of September, em Faro. 

The program starts, then, on the 22nd, at 11:30 am, with the inauguration of the artistic installation “Andorinhas Recriadas” at the Regional Museum – building of the Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve.

The installation involves the decoration of a traditional house with a set of swallows manufactured by users of ACASO – Al-Hain Community Center.

In the afternoon, at 17 pm, in an initiative of the Regional Directorate of Culture, the Roman Ruins of Milreu will receive the exhibition Perspectivas “00º37`05”N 42,73º007º`54”W”, which includes the presentation of the film “O Mundo de Milreu”.

This is a project that makes known the perspectives of several artists from five continents on Milreu and which constitutes the epicenter of an artistic manifestation on a global scale. The authorship is Nuno Murta and Carlos Norton from Associação Fungo Azul. Admission is free and participation is free.

Still on the 22nd, at the Regional Museum, at 18 pm, the exhibition “Memories D'Antigamente” is inaugurated, where the memory of an old factory of soft drinks from Faro is recovered, the “Quintodio” which, among other drinks, developed the traditional “ Pirolito”, so popular with young people, especially in the first half of the 00th century.

The highlight of the program is for the following day (23) at the Municipal Museum, with the inauguration of the exhibition of Sevillian and Algarve baroque painting “Paintings of the Baroque in Seville and the Algarve: Contacts, Coincidences and Disagreements”, which brings together works by famous artists of that period, in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts in Seville.

In total, there will be eight Castilian and Portuguese painters, whose works can be seen, with a natural prominence for the Spaniards Murillo and Zurbarán, two of the most influential representatives of the Spanish baroque of the XNUMXth century.

For two months, at the Municipal Museum of Faro, it will be possible to see how the Sevillian school had its influence on the works of the Algarve, as well as on other European cities during the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries.

Finalizing the European Heritage Days, on the 24th, the Municipality of Faro opens the entrance to all monuments in the county.
