The opening event of the “Algarve Wines”, which takes wines from the region to the beaches, until the 5th, took place this Tuesday, August 1st, at Alvor beach in a “very good mood”.

Until Saturday, the objective of «promoting and publicizing the wines of the Algarve continues its mission in several beaches from Barlavento to Sotavento», such as Carvoeiro, Porto de Mós, and Sta Eulália, finishing at Praia do Barril in Tavira.

«The many tourists returning from Alvor beach were surprised by a fully decorated “street food” style van, ambient music with a “dj-set” and friendly promoters who invited them to taste the freshest Algarve wines this summer in a beautiful late afternoon typical of August», says the Algarve Wine Commission (CVA).

The proposal was, therefore, «unrefusable and there were many who got together in a pleasant atmosphere and tasted the famous whites and rosés of the Algarve».

«The concept of the event is to combine the presence of numerous tourists, both domestic and foreign, on the beaches
Algarve, to the promotion and dissemination of Algarve Wines, through the free tasting of fresh wines,
suitable for gastronomy and the season of the year, as are the rosé and whites».

All this combined with musical entertainment, by DJ B-art, and the offer of gifts and other surprises.

Carlos Gracias, president of CVA, was present at the start of this first edition and considered that «we started in the best way with good entertainment and public participation, we had the participation of around 12 producers representing some of the best whites and rosés in the Algarve».

In the contact he had with the visitors, Carlos Gracias highlights the «relaxation, good mood and interest in Algarve Wines».

«Some in fact did not know them yet and considered the concept and the initiative interesting, which is motivating because what we want is exactly to make the region, its wines and producers known to the public and if it is joining and participating, it is a sign that we are on the right path in promoting Algarve Wines», he concludes.
