A fourth Experiment@ International Conference (Exp.At), focused on "online experimentation" (EO) and aligned with the "internet of all things", will bring together engineers, professors and "professionals from different areas", from 6 to 8 June, at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University do Algarve, at the Campus de Gambelas, in Faro.

And what is this experimentation online? Professor Alberto Cardoso, from the University of Coimbra, and Professor Maria Teresa Restivo, from the University of Porto, are organizers of the event and explained to the Sul Informação that the experiment online encompasses “remote and virtual experiences as identifiable objects accessible through the structure of the Internet of all things”.

“EO integrates technologies that support remote experiences, 2D and 3D virtual experiences, experiences based on virtual and augmented reality applications and possible interaction with sensory devices, live video and other tools, contributing to promote the user's immersion in virtual environments, recreating the real experience and training in very diverse areas. EO is an integral part of themart houses, smart cities, smart cities and smart societies», they add.

This event, therefore, aims to «contribute to increasing the capacity of its international community and promote collaborative work in the use of emerging technologies, bringing together engineers, researchers and professionals from different areas. This debate, the networking provided by it, and the many ideas that each one will bring, are the fundamental reason for the commitment of its organizers», explain the academics.

One of the objectives of this event, which takes place every two years, is also to promote the place where it takes place. Therefore, on Monday, June 5th, there will be a visit to the Airport's control tower, from 14:00 pm to 15:30 pm and from 16:00 pm to 17:30 pm, and on Friday, June 9th, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, to Marine and Environmental Research Center (UP) of UAlg.

In addition to this, the afternoon sessions on the 6th will be at Teatro Lethes. The emblematic Farense Theater will also receive a Portuguese guitar concert, on the 7th, from 21:30 pm to 22:30 pm.

«The Experiment@International Conference has sought, in all its different events, to integrate their achievements with the local society in which they take place, through a symbiosis between academia and society, involving the latter as a stage for the activities of the former », explain Alberto Cardoso and Maria Teresa Restivo.

Names like Javier García-Zubía, Gudrun Klinker and Steeve Baudry will be the keynotes of the event. But "the organizers see all participants as their guests," say the professors.
