More than a thousand presentations and eight months after its inauguration, the first edition of the cultural program «365 Algarve» is coming to an end. In May, however, there is still time for 130 performances from 30 events, taking place across the region.

Literary and performing arts festivals, historical recreations and animated heritage, film, theater and visual arts events join music, opera and dance, which are featured on the program's May poster.

Thus, a dozen classical music and dance concerts, to be held from the 4th to the 28th of May in various Algarve theaters and unconventional spaces, promise to offer a remarkable and enriching experience for residents and tourists.

On the weekend of 6 (Loulé) and 7 (Castro Marim), Accordion of the Soul portrays in concert the soul of an accordion player that is still audible in the heart of the Algarve, providing moments of unusual musical beauty and visual harmony.

Later in the month (the 26th and 27th), the accordion joins the trumpet for the last three performances of Morphosis, a project by Hugo Alves and João Frade, which gives wings to improvisation on original themes written with the potential of these two iconic instruments in mind.

The heydays of the great orchestras, which marked the 1930s, will be recreated at the event Big Band Battle, presenting 40 musicians on stage by the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve and the Orquestra Jorge Costa Pinto. Lucía's secrets is a concert in tribute to the brilliant Spanish flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía, who has Algarvian maternal descent. It happens on the 19th, in Loulé.

In the interior of the region, in the middle of Serra do Caldeirão, the village of Alte (Loulé) with its Fonte Grande and its Fonte Pequena, among other emblematic spaces, receives the first edition of FUSOS, Festival of Artistic Fusions (from 26 to 28 ). The motto is the fusion between art and craft, not missing musical notes.

A jazz festival that is also a gastronomic experience good gourmet food, that's how you can present the Algarve Jazz Gourmet Moments, an innovative event that combines the best of jazz music with the excellence of the Algarve's gastronomy and wines.
