Imagine a stage, transformed into a circus scenario, where games will multiply, with the audience participating, and humorous improvisations. This is the proposal of the show “Circus”, by “Commedia a La Carte”, to take place on the 29th and 30th of March, at the Palácio de Congressos do Algarve, in Albufeira, and on the 25th of May, at the Teatro das Figures, in Faro. And the ambition is even “to have a full house”, according to Ricardo Peres.

In statements to the Sul Informação, this member of the “Commedia a La Carte” group, which also includes César Mourão and Carlos Cunha, explained that the bet on a show based on the circus arose, in part, due to «the training we all have in the circus arts, which we took advantage of to use in some games, such as juggling».

Thus, the stage lineup will have three new games. "Most of these take a person on stage to guide the improvisation." Not least because the group's mood is “on the situation”, explained Ricardo Peres.

“We don't have a social-political flag. We always incorporate the accident technique into our mood: something that happens and that we weren't expecting», he said.

Without wanting to reveal too much about these improvisations, Ricardo Peres, nevertheless, advanced one of them to our newspaper.

“We are going to ask the public for a nationality and a circus art. Then, on stage, there will be an artist, who will speak in the language of the country, an interviewer and a translator».

As for the expectations for the shows in the Algarve, the artist said they were "high".

“We really like the Algarve public. We don't go to the region so much because it's not always easy to schedule it with the theaters, but this time we're making a big bet», he added, between laughs.

After all… there will be a musical, in the form of a love story. «Musicians will play, improvised, when they feel like it and we have to make a story, with lyrics that rhyme, and that pays attention to what people are going to tell», concluded Ricardo Peres.
