the PS Faro considered that the president of the Chamber of Faro «arrived late once again» in the criticism he directed to the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) regarding the limitations of the functioning of the ambulance of the INEM Hospital de Faro and accuse Rogério Bacalhau of “crying crocodile tears”.

the farense aedile sent a letter to the Minister of Health asking the Government for urgent measures 'to prevent the most active ambulance in the region and which covers the Faro and contiguous areas, operate in conditions of overload of its crew and other collaborators».

The increase in the workload of the crew was the solution found by INEM to prevent the ambulance from being stopped during part of the night period, due to lack of personnel, a measure that Rogério Bacalhau dubbed "mere cosmetic".

the PS Faro reacted to this position, claiming that the president of the Chamber of Faro «in the last four years he has remained in deep silence about the degradation of the medical emergency service in the Algarve, even forgetting to give an air of his grace when the government of his party closed the INEM delegation in Faro».

For the socialists, Rogério Bacalhau «arrives late to make a good impression, appearing late and out of time, after the Socialist Party Government decided to re-endow the Algarve with a Regional Directorate of the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), returning the Faro the valences that had been lost in 2012, namely the Guidance Center for Urgent Patients (CODU), by decision of the previous PSD / CDS-PP Government, the same coalition that currently directs the Municipal Council of Faro».

A reopening of INEM's Regional Directorate should take place in January, as announced by the Secretary of State for Health Manuel Delgado, in a visit he made to the region.
