The two emblematic figures of Portuguese sport will be yet another contribution to leveraging this event, which takes place for the second consecutive year, under another name, and which is intended to become part of the anchor events of the Algarve in the coming years, contributing to the international promotion of region."

The route of the Algarve Tri Run – Half Marathon, will be between Vilamoura and Quarteira, in two laps, «with a low slope accumulation, allowing a quick test where national and international records of the 21,1Km distance can be beaten», adds the municipality louletana.

The organization foresees the participation of several dozens of internationally renowned athletes in this competition. The presence in competition of the Olympic athletes Vanessa Fernandes and Ricardo Ribas (participated in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games), Jorge Varela and Doroteia Peixoto (winners of the previous edition), Augusto Costa and Ana Dias are already confirmed.

Simultaneously, the Algarve Tri Run 2.0 – Long Triathlon will take place, in which athletes will swim 1,9 km on the Vilamoura Marina beach, cycle 90 km inside the municipality and run for 21,1 km between the Passeio das Dunas and the Quarteira Boardwalk.

For this Saturday, at 17 pm, an autograph session is scheduled with the athletes Vanessa Fernandes and Ricardo Ribas at the secretariat/exhibition area located at Pure Beach, in Vilamoura.
