The tent is set up at the Aljezur School multi-sport, a short distance from the venue where, until Sunday, the Sweet Potato Festival takes place. In the center is the kitchen, which rotates and turns, sometimes showing itself, sometimes not. Around him, at tables for five people (snug) distributed in black cubicles, are the public.

From time to time, in the kitchen, a crack lets you see what is going on there, then a window opens and you can see the Head Peter de Bie and his helpers preparing the food, soon after another window appears and there is an actress, in a sketch theatrical, or a singing blue salmon head, or a camera photographer polaroid in hand, or two chickens, or…

From time to time, a door or window opens, and director Giacomo Scalisi, transformed into a head chef, serves the dishes chosen and prepared by the Head, using largely local products.

"Have you guessed what's in there?" asks Giacomo, after serving the starter. And the diners found out, after tasting (and approving), but we won't reveal what it was here, so as not to spoil the surprise. The dishes served include sweet potatoes from Aljezur, arbutus from Monchique, mushrooms and honey from the mountains, aromatic herbs…and even a literally blue fish…whose head pops up every now and then, singing…

From the imagination of the cook/director Peter de Bie, this «Peep & Eat» (Peep & Eat) came out, a culinary play that the Belgian company Laika premiered in Aljezur on Thursday, the 24th, and will continue to present until tomorrow , on the 27th, always at 20:00.

This fun and tasty show opens the project «till the sea», which until May of next year will still present many surprises in Aljezur and Monchique, under the 365 Algarve programme.

If your mouth waters and is curious to discover and participate in this «Peep&Eat», you may still get a seat tomorrow, as the 50 seats per night have sold out very quickly.

But if he cannot go to Aljezur, «Peep&Eat» and its culinary carousel, filled with more or less fantastic characters who literally put culture on their plate, will move to Monchique (in the grounds of the EB 2,3 School, 1), where he will perform from the 4st to the XNUMXth of December. But hurry to book.
