Since today it is possible to travel between the Algarve and Lisbon (and vice versa) by electric vehicle. Fast charging stations for 100% electric vehicles at the service stations of Palmela, Alcácer do Sal and Aljustrel (A2) and Loulé (A22) are already in operation.
These stations allow the charging of electric vehicles in about 30 minutes, a much shorter time compared to charging places in the Algarve, which take approximately 3 hours.
On the day he revealed that these posts would be installed, Secretary of State for Environment José Mendes, did not hide his enthusiasm with the prospect of seeing «people coming to the Algarve with the guarantee that they have charging stations within the range of autonomy of electric vehicles».
