The Orquestra Clássica do Sul (OCS) celebrates its 3rd anniversary this Saturday, the 23rd, with a concert that will feature the presence of French violinist Gilles Apap. The event will take place at the Hotel Salgados Palace, in Guia, and is scheduled to start at 20:00. Tickets cost 12,50 euros.

The program consists of works by Fauré, Saint-Saëns, Strauss II, Sarasate and Brahms and also presents a series of traditional pieces, performed by Gilles Apap, under the musical direction of Rui Pinheiro, principal conductor of the OCS.

French violinist Gilles Apap is one of the most renowned names in world classical music, having already performed in countries such as India, Japan or the United States of America.

Based on what the Orquestra do Algarve was, founded in 2002, the Orquestra Clássica do Sul assumed this new name in 2013. The new name brought with it the strategic change of extending its mission to the Alentejo and Setúbal Peninsula regions, in Portugal , and Andalusia in Spain, in addition to that already developed in the Algarve.
