odemira_02The Municipality of Odemira will sign today, at 18 pm, at the José Saramago Municipal Library, a collaboration protocol with the aim of reactivating the Local Support Center for the Integration of Migrants – CLAIM – in the municipality of Alentejo.

According to the municipality, «this protocol falls within the scope of the Municipal Plan for the Integration of Immigrants “Odemira Integra” and aims to ensure the continuity of CLAIM in the municipality of Odemira, as a reception, information and decentralized support office for immigrants who flow to the municipality of Odemira, in view of the strategies defined at national and local level».

The protocol will be signed by the president of the Municipality of Odemira, José Alberto Candeias Guerreiro, by TAIPA – Cooperative Organization for the Integrated Development of the Municipality of Odemira (represented by the chairman of the board, Telma Guerreiro, and vice-president of the board, Dora Guerreiro ) and by the companies Haygrove Portugal, Unipessoal Lda (by the company representative in Portugal, Mónica McGill), Lusomorango – Small Fruit Producers Organization, SA (represented by the chairman of the board of directors, Luís Sobral Pinheiro, and by the director Gil Manuel Brites de Oliveira), Multitempo – Empresa de Trabalho Temporário, Lda (represented by Cláudia Noivo, client manager), Sudoberry SA (represented by director Garry Mercer and farm manager Sofia Rosendo) and Vitacress Portugal, SA (represented by director Luís de Mesquita Dias and prosecutor Maria Teresa da Costa e Castro).

The protocol will allow the reactivation of the CLAIM structure for a period of two years.

The Chamber of Odemira explains that «the implementation of CLAIM's mission in the municipality of Odemira, based on the objectives defined by the High Commission for Migration, is the responsibility of TAIPA, with the collaboration and financial contribution of the other stakeholders, in the amount a total of 62.144,04 euros, an amount shared in 50% by the Municipality of Odemira, 25% by the company Lusomorango, and the remaining 25%, equally, by the other companies».
